Nintendo DSi XL vs. Nintendo DSi?

Scince my little brother broke my nintendo ds lite, I’m tryihng to figure out which one to get. I’ve heard of the Nintendo DSi and the DSi XL. I heard their both great gaming systems, but I’m also looking for ways to save $$$ to. The way I see it, the DSi XL is just a bigger version of the DS i, am I corect? They look like the same thing except for the size difference. So, which one should I get???

aww, im sorry your brother broke your dsi lite, well anyway yes you bassicly are right. the dsi xl is just a bigger version of the dsi. But I warn you, the dsi xl is HUGE!! The dsi xl just comes with 3 extra "apps" or dsi ware. It comes with a photo clock app, where you can set a picture as a calender. And then it comes with two brain age apps.

For money, i would buy it from walmart. They always have a great bundle pack, with games and everything. Hope this helps.

Nintendo DS Lite vs DSi vs DSi XL?

My brother has an old red nintendo ds, but it’s freezing a lot now.
I’m probably gonna get the 3DS next year, but I really like playing my DS and can’t wait till next Christmas (that’s when I’m getting it) to play again.
I heard the DS Lite has a really bright screen and that you can get them for really cheap now?
Also I didn’t think the DSi was much better than the DS lite because the camera wasn’t that good, and the XL is just a bigger version of that.

The best out of those 3 is the DS lite. It’s so simple. BUT! If you are getting one for the first time get the DSI XL. The concept of it may seem pretty dumb but it’s not that bad. My best friend got the DSI XL for Christmas and it was really easy to navigate. It has mini games (like apps), camera (on the XL the quality is better than the regular DSI), mp3 player, it can play regular DS games (but no more GBA slot), and internet. The lite is $99 refurbished at gamestop. The DSI is $149 and the DSI XL is $179.99. I was going to get the DSI but for now I’m going to wait because when the DSI 3g comes out I’m hoping they lower the price. For now I play my lite.

nintendo ds lite vs. dsi?

If all I want is to play pokemon, do i really need to get a dsi?

If all you want is Pokémon, then the DS Lite is perfect. It’s the only DS with a GB slot, so you can import Pokémon from other games like Fire Red. It can still connect on-line as well.

Nintendo DS Lite vs. DSi?

After a 3 year hiatus from any Nintendo games (haven’t really been playing since my DS Lite broke -_-) I’ve finally decided to buy a new DS! I’m not sure which one though. I used to have a white DS Lite. But the top screen cracked when I dropped it. What are the pros and cons of the DS Lite and DSi? I heard you can’t play GBA games on the DSi.

I want to get the DS Lite because it’s cheaper and it can play GBA games but I looked in Best Buy and the color selection is limited. (pink, dark blue, and red?)

And I want to get the DSi because it has LIGHT BLUE! :O My favorite color! xD It also has a bunch of new features I think?

Which one would you recommend?

Can either of them use WiFi?

k, ive got a dsi and my brothers got a lite and bassicly, the dsi has a camera and an mp3, thats one of the main differences,

they both can use wifi but for the lite its only for stuff like mario cart multiplayer stuff, and the dsi you can go on the internet by connecting to wifi :)

I got the dsi when it was 1st out and its soooooo much cheeper now cos of the dsi XL and stuff so yh :)

Nintendo DSI vs DS lite…..quick question…help?

Hi, which is more appropriate for a 6 year old? Does the camera in the DSI truly make gaming and other aspects of it funner? Also, are DSI games more expensive than DS games? Thanks

The dsi is ideal for a 6 year old. The camera and sound features will make him/her laugh. Plus the screen is brighter and it’s more durable. IF you want to save yourself a few bucks, get the ds lite since there’s not much of a diffrence between the two except for the gameboy slot. The gameboy games are very unpopular right now except for the retro gamers. I suggest walmart.com to get it since they have a great package deal. The camera features are a real laugh for young people.

nintendo DS VS DS lite (for 9 yr old boy)?

for my little brothers birthday he’s asked for a ds. i dont want to bother getting the DSi because it has a camera so im torn between the normal DS and the DS lite.
i just want to know the difference of durability, size, ease of use etc.
so just a quick comparison please :)

DS lite
Much better, Just get a Nurf Case for it seeing as hes 9… My seven year old cuzen has had one for a year with a Nurf Case looks as if nothing has happened to it

Nintendo DS Lite vs Nintendo DSi: Which should I buy?

I’ve been looking at the new Pokemon games recently, and they look pretty good, and I’m thinking of buying them when they release next year. I have a job, and I’m thinking of saving around $25 a week to buy a new DS since I sold mine a few years ago. The main games I want are Pokemon, and Animal Crossing, but will look into a few others. I say those 2 because they were the main games I played when I had a DS about 3-4 years ago, and I kind of miss playing them haha.

Anyways, I’m personally leaning towards the DS Lite. Yes, I know the DSi has a camera, a shop, and a bigger screen. The only thing that attracts me is the bigger screen. I have no use for a camera, and don’t plan on buying points just to download an Animal Crossing clock or calculator. We’ll see though, I may change my opinion overtime. But, the DS Lite is also around $50 cheaper than the DSi. Maybe ebay has a cheaper DSi I can buy, but I’ll look into it for sure. Which model would you recommend for me? Keep in mind, I have another question…

The main reason I’m leaning towards the DS Lite besides cost, is the R4 availability. I’m 16, and need to save up for drivers ed, insurance, etc when that becomes an option next school year. I know so many people that use them, and they think the R4 is the best option for getting a DS. I know a bunch of ROM sites, too. Which version of an R4 cartridge would you say is the best to get? Oh, I’ve been hearing there is no working English ROM for Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver? It has something to do with freezing? Any links on these would be nice, as I’m semi-clueless on this info lol.

And I’ve considered waiting to buy a 3DS, but if it’s going to cost as much as my Xbox did, then there’s no chance I’m buying it haha

I would go with the DS Lite. That’s what I bought because the extra cost of the DSi didn’t seem worth it for the few extra features it has. Another reason I like the DS Lite better is the GBA slot which the DSi doesn’t have.

Nintendo DS lite vs. Nintendo DSi- Opinions Please?

I’ll just get right to the basics! I have a DS lite, it is pretty old I’d say a couple years. I barely ever played it but recently I found my brother’s "The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass" Game and have really enjoyed playing it.
Previously I only ever really played it a little bit when either
(A) we went on a road trip or
(B) I bought a new game.
With the game came the new discovery that my old DS lite is still working fine, but it has a color problem every so often where things like blues turn pinky orangy on the top screen but go back to normal if I put a bit of pressure on both sides. I don’t THINK this is a problem though!
I figure if I find a few more fun games, I’ll play more often! I was just wondering if it would be worth the upgrade to a DSi. My friend has a DSi, and it seems pretty cool! Now- finally getting to the question:

Please if possible, compare the pros and cons of upgrading, and tell what the new features are and which features are gone. If you want, please also include some of your favorite DS games! Lastly, please state whether you think it is worth the upgrade.

Thank you so much for any opinion, short or long!
Wow. Honestly, I had no clue there was even going to BE a 3ds- I was waiting for a a new ds version but hadn’t heard anything.
Thank you SO much!! Now I just have to wait until it lets me pick best answer :)
The only downgrade I know is there is no GBA game slot- which I use for guitar hero and my old GBA games.

Well, I have had a DS it was very fun and I loved the games. My sister recently sold her DS and bought a DSi and it is awesome! Let me tell you about the features that I think made it better than the DS.

First of all, by getting a DSi you are not downgrading at ALL!
You can also take pictures with the DSi, which is a huge upgrade
Using the DSi you can record and morph your voice- this can be a lot of fun!
You can also surf the web if u can find an Internet connection.
All of the games that work on your DS will still work on the DSi too.

Mario karts is a reallly fun game if u don’t already have it.

iPod Touch vs Nintendo DSi?

I have some extra birthday money that I never spent and I’ve narrowed it down to those two choices. My current iPod is the Classic (80GB) and I feel it’s time for an upgrade. On the other hand, I had a DS Lite until I sold it almost 2 years ago. I want a DSi for the new Pokemon games and to play Animal Crossing: Wild World again because it was one of my favorite games. But, I realized I can just jailbreak an iTouch if I buy one and put every Pokemon game ever made on the iPod and play it usng ROMs haha. My choice at the moment is an iPod Touch. Would you agree it’s the right one?

Last time I checked, the iPod Touch models that are currently in stores, the ones with the MC models, were impossible to jailbreak because of firmware. I heard today that something called Spirit or whatever can now jailbreak the MC modeled iPods? Can someone fill me in on this? Because if it can’t, I can always buy a refurbished iPod from the 2nd Gen and jailbreak it from there.

Thanks!

Ipod Touch u can jailbreak them u just cant shut it off or it resets

Nintendo DSi XL vs PSP Go?

Hi,

I’m going to buy a new portable games console this summer, and I can’t decide between the XL and the GO. They are about same price so I’m not worried about that. The browser on the XL is inferior compared to that of the Go. But I love the pokemon games, which obviously are only available on DS. I already have a DS lite which i suppose i could stick with for playing pokemon. But I’ve heard the Go is quite small, so if you have big fingers (i have quite small ones) it is hard to play on. I don’t like any other DS games, and like most of the PSP ones. HELP!
Thanks.

There is no need to get a DSI., Since you already have a Nintendo DS to play your Pokemon games, I know that Nintendo DSi has more and better features than the old one, but you can still cross out those features because you will mostly use the Nintendo DSi to play Pokemon games. The most compelling feature in the nintendo dsi is only the little camera, but there is really no difference between the two. The price doesn’t really matter because they both are about the same price. They both are also great handhelds but I think it’s better to carry the PlayStation Portable Go than the Nintendo DSi. Carrying the PlayStation portable Go with is the same as carrying your, games, music, videos, pictures, the internet and so on with you. Even though the Nintendo DSi has some of those features but I prefer the PlayStation Portable Go.

Comparing to games, the Nintendo DSi is ZERO!! Most of them childish and surely you won’t have any fun by playing them. The graphic is horrible and shouldn’t worth the price because of that. The PlayStation Portable Go is small, but has AMAZING games and graphic. Overall, the PlayStation Portable Go is better than the Nintendo DSi..
