Nintendo DS + DS Lite Fuse repair

Guide for replacing/repairing the two fuses found in both the original Nintendo DS, and the nintendo ds Lite, this procedure can bring DS’s back from the dead, Does your green light come on briefly then go off?, Doesn’t come on at all?, Orange light blinks on briefly when a chargers connected, or doesn’t come on at all?, this will more than likely fix it completely!

If your screen flickers on briefly when you switch on the unit, the fault is with the hinge ribbon, i will add a guide for repair of this problem soon!

    OK this guide is VERY useful ! I didn’t fit the insulating tape to the underside of the new bottom screen during my repair, metal touched metal when the unit closed and blew these fuses, although for ages i thought the ribbon cables weren’t connected properly. I just soldered a blob over the entire fuse (without picking them out) and it now works and charges fine. As the guide says, if your NDS NDSL wont turn on and flashes once when you put the charger in, this is the repair you need to do.

    For all who are confused i just revive mine usign this video.

    You need:
    .A soldering iron (Mine is a 30W from Radio Shack)
    .Solder

    Just locate F1 and F2 fuses and usign the iron just heat the lower or upper part making a force to it so can get off. Now take the solder and try to bridge both parts of the connector. You may want to start with F2 since is harder since theres other fuses around. After you do F2 just put the baterry and check if goes green if not then do F1 too and viola!
