Super Mario 64 – nintendo ds: Does the map give away the location, ruining some of the challenge of the game?

i dont think so because true u see the outline from birds eye but that way looks like all ground level is equal and u can just jump the ledges and also it does not show were the coins are or where it shows the bad guys but it does show the star thats the only disadvantage
