Can you play Game Boy games on the Nintendo DS?

Something I’d like to know before I buy my son a DS, can he play all his Game Boy games on it?

    Yes, there is another slot for Gba cartridges, which Gb cartridges may also fit it

    energize is right, you can only play gameboy advance games on the Nintendo DS. Older Gameboy games won’t even fit into the cartridge slot.

    I’ll just confirm it for you. He’ll be able to play all his old Gameboy Advance Games, but if he’s planning on playing the even older Gameboy Colour or Gameboy Pocket games he’s going to be a little disappointed. So just to recap:

    GBA Games:Yes
    GBC Games: No
    GB/GBP Games:No
