Does the Nintendo DS play game boy advamce games?

I bought my kids a Ds and have been looking on ebay for games. I am just wondering if they are compatible, Thanks.

Of course the DS plays Gameboy Advance Games.

To do so, take out the little slot below the touch screen (low screen) and plug in the game.

    Yes game boy Advance game works in the DS!
    There is a slot for DS games on the top
    and on the bottom is the slot for Gamboy advance games.

    Yes, but not any older GBA games. The long square games don’t work, at least not for my DSPhat (1st gen DS)..

    Yes. However, any game boy games prior to the release of the game boy advance (game boy color, original game boy) will not work.
