I know it can play gameboy advance games but is it possible to modify it to play gameboy color games? I’ve got a bunch of gbc and gba games but my gameboy broke so I wanna get a DS lite. All answers are greatly appreciated!
BTW: If you can post any links that’d be great!!
Nope sorry, but if you really want to play gameboy color games, you could use visualboy advance for the PC:

You’ll have to download the gameboy color roms from the internet (can usually be found with a simple google search), which is only legal if you own the actual game
Edit:
it turns out that there is a gameboy color emulator for the DS called "lameboy." But it requires you to "hack" and possibly ruin your DS so I’m not sure you want to risk that. But the DS should have no problem running a homebrew GBC emulator considering that the iPod has one that runs at like 120% (The DS and iPod both use the ARM processor)

No, gameboy and gameboy color games aren’t compatible with the Nintendo DS
References :
yes the are in the bottom of the ds the color games can fit in and you can play at the top the ds games are played and you can chat with your friends if you want or down load games!

no. If they could, then the SP would not be sold, which I don’t think Nintendo wants.
