I have 2 boys, aged 8 and 7, who love video games so much that we take the xbox and tv in the truck when we travel. I would like to get them something that’s a little more compact but not sure what is better for them.
well the gameboy is almost dead no games will come out for it and the ds will take over
The nintendo is way better and more expensive than the gameboy but the nintendo is the better long term investment
DS

I would go with the Nintendo DS, since the game boy is a little outdated. You mentioned they played the X box so they should be familiar with complicated controls. Yeah, go with the Nintendo DS.

neither, make them go out side and play

The DS is much more interactive, can play gameboy advance games (not GB or GB color, tho) and has some actullay fun educational games on it

I think you should get them the Nintendo DS.

My Opinion
I agree. Neither. My mom didn’t let me have a gameboy until I was 16 but then I didn’t want it. Books are always good and so is playing outside. It lets kids use their imagination.

I would also go with the DS. More and more games are being released for the DS. Young kids and even those in their twenties have a Nintendo DS.

Nintendo DS. That’s for sure! The kids will love it! Trust me. Or maybe you should ask them. They will know better. Hope so.

There are a lot of fun games for the DS. It has a built in wireless transmission that allows you to connect to another DS without buying a cable. The transmission is I think about 60 feet. The DS can also wirelessly connect to the internet for some games. The DS also plays Game Boy Advance games.
Hope I helped!!!!!

screw imagination thats why video games were invented. Kids should be planning for the future right now like sports or school thats what they should concentrate on. But i think you should get DS because there are many new games coming out for the ds and none for the gameboy plus the games have better graphics and funner gameplay go here for a list of some good games

Normally I would say DS Lite, but you said they’re ages 7 and 8 .. well, it depends on the kid. I’m 16 and my DS is a bit scratched and roughed up. However, my 9 year old brother has a DS and his looks brand new.
The DS is much more fun to play on, what with the touch screen and the better graphics. And it plays Gameboy Advance games. And if you get 2, they can "text" each other. Plus it is year 2007, so more advanced handheld games are common.
But I’m sure the Gameboy is less expensive, and not so easy to wreck. So …
