Will an original gameboy cartrige work on a nintendo ds lite or GBA?

I getting Legend of zelda links awakening for gameboy but i dont have the original gameboy only DS and GBA so will an original gameboy cartrige work on a DSlite or GBA?

the original big grey gameboy games wont work on the ds lite or original ds. However, the gba and gba sp can play original gameboy games.

    Everyone here that says the DS will work is wrong. It WILL NOT work on the DS. The DS and DS Lite are only capable of running GBA games.

    The GBA (assuming it isn’t a micro) will be able to play it though.

    I have metroid 2, an original game boy game, and it wont work in my original ds or ds lite, but my gba and gba sp run it.
