Does anyone know why there is such a big price variance for the nintendo ds lite?

I have seen it for sale for anywhere between $129 and $300, all without games.

Because the $129.00 DS lite are the later version. $300 DS Lite is the newest version and is a collectors item.

Amazon sells the older version of DS Lite for $129.99

    There are different deals at different stores and also you might have been looking at refurbished hand helds because they come in the exact same box but some are the old ds and some are the lite.
